Kudumbasree

Kudumbashree is a people-oriented movement that has made a significant contribution to the social empowerment of women and poverty eradication in Kerala. Its primary objective is to enhance the economic self-reliance and social participation of women.

1. Introduction

Kudumbashree is the State Poverty Eradication Mission launched by the Government of Kerala on 17 May 1998. It functions under the leadership of Local Self-Government Institutions and with active people’s participation.

2. Structure (Three Tier System)

Agricultural Activities

Promote organic farming, group farming, vegetable cultivation, and nutrition gardens.

Social Development Activities

Health, sanitation, nutrition, and anti-drug awareness activities.

Training and Skill Development

Provide vocational and entrepreneurship training..

Collaboration with Local Self-Government Institutions

Participation in Grama Panchayat Development Projects.
