Duties of Panchayat Finance Standing Committe
The Finance Standing Committee is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial affairs of the Panchayat.
Its major responsibilities include:
Assisting in the preparation of the Panchayat budget.
Examining and making recommendations on the annual budget and revised budget estimates.
Suggesting measures for increasing the Panchayat's revenue.
Ensuring efficient assessment and collection of taxes, fees, cess, and other revenues.
Reviewing the Panchayat's income and expenditure accounts.
Supervising and monitoring financial transactions and financial management.
Examining audit reports and audit objections and recommending appropriate follow-up actions.
Ensuring that Panchayat funds are utilized legally, efficiently, and for the intended purposes.
Reviewing matters relating to the financial management of Panchayat assets and properties.
Recommending measures for financial control, economy, and reduction of unnecessary expenditure.
Suggesting ways to mobilize financial resources for development projects and schemes.
Performing any other financial functions entrusted by the Panchayat Committee.
