Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme
Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is a comprehensive welfare programme launched by the Government of India in 1975. The primary objective of the scheme is to ensure the health, nutrition, and holistic development of children aged 0–6 years, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and adolescent girls. In Kerala, the programme is implemented through Anganwadi Centres under the Department of Women and Child Development.

Objectives
- Ensure the physical, mental, social, and cognitive development of children aged 0–6 years.

- Prepare children for primary education.
- Create awareness among parents about health, nutrition, and child care.
